ELO - Does it matter?

Does the ELO of a player/team matter much? I purposely played vs all of the top ELO teams (http://prntscr.com/baedxr) and won vs them all. I have tested strategy extensively and rarely loose.

Blue team wins 99% of matches

Blue has been having a strong advantage ( 8000 games have been won by blue while 6000 have been won by purple ), so there is an issue.
But now I'm rolling out a new version of the simulator, so a lot of it might be changing.

Elo doesn't affect the game. Elo is currently important to get better sponsors only.
