So I had 3 youth players and spend 2,5k on training them but 2 of them got removed due to lack of space, but I still lost the money, is this supposed to happen like this?

If you initially hire 3 youth players and then lower the limit below that those that don't fit in to your maximum limit will be removed and you still pay the daily fee.

I had the same problem a while ago. Maybe it's an option to make two fields. One for total youth players you want and one for if you want to acquire new players. Or maybe don't have a field for the total youth players at all. If a player want's less youth players they can just discard them.
