duo support bot?

if anyone is willing to give some info I have some questions about the duo support bot strat.
1. For the ADC slot do you use a support player? or does the player still need good adc stats?
2. Does the adc need to play a champion that has utility but is also good in the ADC role?
I forgot my other questions but those were the main things i wanted to know.
