Just curious as to how quickly players age

1 year in a player's life is equal to 25 days real time, so your player will age 14.6 game days per real day when you're looking at the age of the players who are on your roster (the game will round to the nearest whole day for display purposes).

Alternatively, if you're looking at the age of a player who is currently in your Youth Academy it will be displayed as a decimal, meaning a player's age could be displayed as 18.32 for example. In decimal terms a player ages by 0.04 per day.
