#7 Champion Splash Art reveal - the Plague Rat. Community storyline contest inside.

Same old info & rules:
It's one of many splash arts we are revealing (officially). We'll reveal one champion splash art a day until we are out of stock. Since we are going to make custom champion pages with their own short background stories, stats, strengths and weaknesses, we decided to involve our beloved community.
So here's the contest for the Plague Rat’s background story. Don't make it too long, one decent paragraph (around 5-10 sentences?) would be enough. The most upvoted useable story will (probably) get its place on the champion's page with your name added under it. We still have the rights to decide if it's suitable or not, just to prevent the 4chan treatment of public contests.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: We'll add some proper fractions/rivalry framework for the lore in the near days, stay tuned.

There was a ridiculous Rat
Who was awfully (puffy) and fat.

no but really

In a land full of torment and hate
the council had called for debate

the land was in fear
but not from a spear
it was the plague rat from the west

they sent out an army so big
they chased off all evil and sprig.

and after a year of no harm
a sickness showed up on a farm

it must have been the awful rat
which on all the crops had just spat

the prophecy said that to win
over the plague rats kin
you had to fire him with grease.

they sent out the squad
with a specialized rat rod
to catch it and burn it with fat

it was a bit vague
to get rid of the plague
but finally the sick rat was gone.

The sewers are like a city in itself. And he, was the champion of that city. He roamed underground, in the infected waters of the Capital, in search of something to eat and bring back to his smaller sister. However one day, the Capital's guards accompanied with doctors, came down to cure the city of this disease: the sewers and its people. All ran as fast as they could from the camps they had once built, but none survived. And he, at his return, found his sister floating in her own blood. In his sorrow and rage, he urged himself forward, looking for these murderers. Once he found them, the doctors, now looking more like mad scientists, captured him and wanted to experiment new things on him. He could not escape. The serum they injected him, caused him to metamorph into a rat. His eyes glowed and he managed to slip out of their grasp. He ran away, taking with him only one thing, his trusty weapon. He was now the monster of the sewers seeking for revenge. His ears "twitch"ed at that thought.

omg I typed this before the update and lost the entire story because I tried to submit while the update was taking place. kill. me. story no.2:

Brim the innkeeper was used to dealing with rats. Especially given his tavern was next to the shoreline of the poorest trading city in the district. This year however it had been worse, a swarm of rats had flooded the city, bringing disease and ruin everywhere it went. It seemed like these rats had a hive mind, direction and purpose, seeking out and destroying food shipments before they could enter the ports. The food at the inn hadn't been restocked in weeks and Brim had to find a solution.

Sitting on the dock while the latest shipment came in, Brim could already see as it approached that it was covered in a layer of diseased rats, pulling and pushing past each other. Searching for signs of life he spotted a figure on the top deck of the ship and called out- to no response from the character. Fearing the worst Brim moved to the very edge of the dock, hoping to move in quickly and salvage anything of the shipments precious cargo. As the ship was not ten metres away he realised the character was standing dead still as a mischief of rats turned and writhed around it - suddenly the figure turned their head and locked eyes with Brim. Terror flooded Brim's body as he realised that this was no crew member. A rat's face, devilish horns and a leering grin were the last thing's he saw before a poison dart hit him in the neck and he passed out.

The Plague Rat is cursed, by fate and literally by the Evil Master. A simple brown rat, a dumb animal, who had the unfortunate fate of sinking its teeth into the Evil Master's personal copy of The Communist Manifesto. The second the rat bit into the book, the Evil Master felt a strike at his own heart. He rushed into his bedroom and unleashed all his black magics upon the rat. On that day the simple rat was transformed, he became larger, stronger, grotesque and was known as The Plague Rat. Forced to be one of the Evil Masters guards, unthinking, unknowing. His entire life an extension of the Evil Masters will.

The subterranean dystopian metropolis that ruled in secrecy underneath the above-lands were filled with some of the most vile, disgusting souls to ever breathe life into the universe. Some were born into hatred, others learned in due time to assimilate or their life was short-lived. Not everyone used to live like this - a state of repulsion, abhorance, and anarchy. Some had morals. Some had hopes, dreams, aspirations even. One of those souls were Alexander Bruce; Street urchin by day, researcher by night. Alexander was a thoughtful mind, always putting others' needs first. Alexander had a fascination with rats, their habits and agility fascinated him despite their annoyance to majority of the neanderthal population.

One evening, Alexander's experiments took a toll for the worse - a band of vagabonds laid siege to his shanty, raiding him mid-experimentation on one of his sewer companions. Taking Bruce hostage as they sacked his belongings, the thieves vandalized all that remained of his life - his logs, his experiments, his creations; gone in an instant. They slaughtered his rodent companions and left him to pick up what pieces he had left.

Distraught, hopeless, and most of all - enraged. Bruce retreated into the sewer systems of the deep underground, an area that was seen as beyond living condition. His only solace in this toxic temple was within the company of Rats. Some say he banished and was eaten alive by the larger ones. Others say he became consumed by the wasteland and plans his revenge; amassing an ongoing horde to cleanse the underground and take what is rightfully his.

He is - The Plague Rat.
