Same old info & rules: It's one of many splash arts we are revealing (officially). We'll reveal one champion splash art a day until we are out of stock. Since we are going to make custom champion pages with their own short background stories, stats, strengths and weaknesses, we decided to involve our beloved community. So here's the contest for the Pirate King’s background story. Don't make it too long, one decent paragraph (around 5-10 sentences?) would be enough. The most upvoted useable story will (probably) get its place on the champion's page with your name added under it. We still have the rights to decide if it's suitable or not, just to prevent the 4chan treatment of public contests.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: We'll add some proper fractions/rivalry framework for the lore in the near days, stay tuned.
Jack Sparrow races to recover the heart of Davy Jones to avoid enslaving his soul to Jones' service, as other friends and foes seek the heart for their own agenda as well.

The depth of the ocean is infinite is the eyes of the sailor, but it is a vast empire for the one who conquers it. And this captain, followed by the entirety of his crew sailed the oceans under the King's flag. However, one day, a storm arrived and shook the vessel, causing all the sailors to sink and disappear in the dark depths of the ocean. Only one survived: the captain. He kept hold of his ship during the storm and came out alive, changed, but alive. The storm is said to bring the ocean's anger to the surface and that anyone who stays will surfer the consequences, and he did. He was charged with the embodiment of the ocean's wrath and power, sailing under a new name: The Pirate King. He was chosen by the ocean as it's protector and so he sailed the seas, freeing them of unwanted ships. His crew grew as the deaths he made grew. He was feared everywhere because he, the Pirate King, wielded a power that no man could withstand, the wrath of the ocean.

The first change was small. He became cold like the deep waters and could never fully dry off. Some say that it was the Sea God's punishment for stealing all these years, others thought his ship held an ancient curse. It didn't matter to him however, his lifestyle would never change until he last ship had been plundered and it's crew terrorised ; or he had been finally, slowly and painfully, ripped of his humanity and dissolved into the sea.
