What is the market for 26y/o players

What does player retirement actually mean?

I see 26 year olds being traded on the market frequently, sometimes for silly amounts of money. What reasons are there for wanting to acquire a 26 year old?

Example of 26 year old with mediocre stats with a $2m bid (and another with better stats getting lots of bids):

I'd imagine a newer club could make use of a good player going cheap due to their age, but 2 million for a 26 year old with stats like that? Doesn't exactly look honest does it?

multi-account money trading ?

I deliberately highlighted that example because it seemed fishy but what about the other instances too, for example the other (higher rated) 26y/o in the first screenshot who has nearly 10 bids and is going for 680k? How does a newer team actually utilise a 26 year old if the retirement age is 25?

The highlighted trade is market abuse. The guy is kinda known for that already, so don't that.

The 2nd auctions appears to be fine. New teams just have a lot of money, due to a fast start and the weekly tournaments.
"retirement" at this point just means, that they decay pretty fast. It's a shortterm investment.
The streaming revenue decays rather slow though.

Not a new team here, so I have no idea.

Thanks, I wasn't aware that they could still play competetive games past 25. I had assumed retirement meant actual retirement, not just a point at which their stats will start to decay quickly.

You manually retire players now, so they can play past 25 and don't retire until you press the button for it.

The guy is known for market abuse xD
