A weekly recap? A weekly recap!

Hello managers!
It is day 13 of the second season.
For team ranked, we might very soon encounter a milestone: Smokeweed69, managed by Wursthaze needs only two more wins to be the very first team to reach 2000 or more Team ELO (currently at 1983)! All this while only one other team (Fire in my Hole, owned by manager Too Much Salt) is even above 1900 – standing at 1942. This, while from Lion King’s Pride Rock team (1882) to Xelaadryth’s Shadowblade (1800 exactly) also only 16 other strong and well-known teams, including Season 1’s mid-season tournament winner Jordian with 4Profits (1816 ELO) have 1800 or more elo, this would be quite the outstanding accomplishment.
However, champaign could have already been opened in Smokeweed69’s gaming house, had they not lost their last ranked game, just today around 16:00 server time, precisely TO rivals Fire in my Hole – In a thrilling game that almost went to two hours, a 53/26/40 k/d/a of Smokeweed69’s midlaner „Bongohaze“ on Ice Bird was not enough to carry his team to victory: With Pirate King (45/20/72) and Blade Dancer (55/25/40), Fire In My Hole’s Mid- „Jaeden78“ and Toplaner „Mistamillaaa“ amassed a total of exactly 100 kills between each other before they finally smashed the enemy nexus in an extremely bloody 256-kill game to secure Victory over Smokeweed69 and shatter the 2000 elo dream – For now.
Both these outstanding teams are also present in the highest e-sports League, DIVISION 1 – Which is staying highly competitive as well as entertaining!
Currently, Fire In My Hole and Pride Rock lead the League with 10-3 standings both, yet either Smokeweed69 or 4Profits will still join them – They are the last to play and finish their 13th League game while both standing on a 9-3 record as of now. That will mean a 3-way tie for 1st place after 13 of 18 matches played! Not even EU LCS, where at times everyone beat everyone (and in the end FNC won…), could often boast of being this close.
Behind them are still strong contenders waiting for their chance: Clean Team (8-5, managed by Stui) and Beyond Da Rift (7-6, owner Froggen Fox), while Above The Rest (4-9), Shadowblade (3-10), Try Hard Mackko (3-10) and especially LDIV2 (1-12) have fallen behind quite a bit. They will need to put up a lot of work in for their remaining five League games this season if they want to avoid relegations! Four of these teams will lose their spots to the winners of each of the 2nd Division Leagues.
In DIV 2 (#1), that spot will extremely likely go to either to Providedbe’s DPS King team, the only of all 40 Division 2 teams that is still unbeaten at 13-0, or Xenoon, standing at 12-1. Even The Chosen Few (9-4) at 3rd place would need a minor miracle to still advance to first place there. While the 6th saving spot avoiding relegation will likely see a close battle between 5 random noobs (7-6), Genesis Supercluster (7-6, lost today to DPS KING) and FireFoxFive (6-7), the last 3 teams (We Dem Bois, Snix Esports and Draft Punk1), ranging between 2 and 0 wins this far, should already start planning for a season in Division 3.
DIV 2 (#2) is a little closer. Sure, PuffyThePig’s famous Dank Memsters Reformed might look like clear winners at 12-1 right now, yet with ASAPMOB (10-2), Imanity (9-3) and Chelsea LC (9-3) some big names are patiently waiting for their chance to get closer during those last 5 match days.
Here too, five teams have negative records, ranging between Veni/Vidi/Vici at 5-8 and Obvious FF at 1-12. While the latter, as well as the 2-11 standing Newbie Rush should already plan with a cut DIV 3 budget, the former can still confidently try to defend the saving 6th place against Teamnameunknown and B-J Gaming who are one and two wins behind them respectively.
The 3rd oft he 2nd leagues is closer still when it gets to promotion: If Clowns with Guns win today’s last game against 8th place The Shield (3-9 currently), we will have 3 teams, also including Fanatic and Alevo’s Team on a 9-4 record sharing 2nd place and chasing League leaders Doom Bots, who, with their win today over 5th place Lets Do It (7-6), end their match day on 11 wins and only 2 losses. As Aurora is already disqualified and will not add any wins to their 2-11 record, one relegation is fixed. Also, the other three teams currently on relegation spots require a major upswing in performance if they want to catch up to 6th place Nektanebo (7-6): While Das Boot is at least steering on 5 wins, both The Shield and the Winterfell Direwolves haven’t been able to win more than 3 games yet, meaning they are 4 wins behind Nektanebo“ only 5 matches before the League ends – Sadly fort hem, even CLG fans might lose faith at those odds of staying in the League.
Lastly, DIV 2 (#4): RS E-sports, LDIV1 and Overpowered, standing at two, one and zero wins respecably might already pack their bags for a G2-esque vacation; they are almost relegated already. And while Wooof (5-8) and FiveFoxies (6-6) are likely to fight for that sanctuary of 6th place till the end, four teams ahead of them will try to catch up to TSMety’s team Enjoy the Game, which leads this League with a 12-1 record so far: SSV Normandy, cruising through League space on a 10 wins/3 losses record to which Hytherings could catch up still (9-3 as of now), while Esports United and FantasticFive share 4th place, giving at least some last hope to their fans at 9-4 – Catching up 3 wins in 5 games is tough, but maybe, just maybe, one of them might do it…
