Trading Season and Deadline
Please keep in mind that this will be kinda lengthy.
As people are aware, in many sport leagues, they have this trading season or signing season, where only in a certain period of time (sometime during mid-season or off-season), team managers can trade/sell/purchase players. After that, there is this certain roster lock deadline, which teams can no longer trade their rosters after this deadline.
I have been thinking: What if we implement this into the game?
So lets have trading seasons off-season and mid-season. During off-season (when teams are finished with their league and/or possible playoffs/tournaments), the market place will open, and managers can sell their players like usual.
Then comes the deadline. Market will close and teams with fewer than 5 players will have to immediately get players from other sources such as scouts or youth academy, or else they will have to forfeit matches in their league.
During regular season, teams cannot use the market (since it's closed). So usually they would invest on training their current roster, on training new players in Youth Academy, and on scouting free agents.
After the first round-robin has finished (teams have finished playing against every other teams in their league once), the league will pause, and market will open once again. Same stuff, deadline comes etc.
I believe this system would stray people away from focusing solely on market players and drive them to focus on other aspect of player recruitment. Most importantly, I believe this would eliminate regular market abuse and how people are spamming alternative accounts just to sell the star players.
Any thoughts?
