I guess I'm not confident on how the player market works. I had a bid in on a player and was constantly updating the page to make sure that I was still highest bid. It continued to show my team name and the time from the bidding ending kept going down so I thought it was fine, but a few minutes before the bidding was supposed to end I got a notification that I was outbid and the player was gone?

Wasn't gone. When a bid is placed in the last 15 mins, it puts the counter back to 15 minutes. It more than likely ended up on page two.
