Recently it seems like purple side has a pretty big advantage. If two roughly equally strong teams play each other purpe side will almost always win. Is that reflected in the win rate?

I think this issue was addressed in the TS1, however the developers will have statistics to see if there is any unbalance.
It may be a matter of perspective, you may be giving away 2 strong picks when you sandbox other teams, try re-adjusting your strategy.

In my opinion its mostly because even if you get 1 of the top picks the other team gets 2 instantly. Its hard to react to that :D
